| At 1 Institutional Area on the main Lodi Road,
near Lodi Garden lies the Tibet House, an information and resource
center on Tibet. Visitants can obtain useful informations from
here about Tibetan history, culture, art and tradition. The
House has a museum, which was established in 1965 and exhibits
a good collection of objects and artefacts brought from Tibet
when His Holiness the Dalai Lama fled from the aggression of
Chinese forces. |

| The major attractions of the museum are the
rare painted rolls known as 'tangkhas' in the local language,
belonging to 15th century Tibetan monasteries, beautiful Buddha
figurines and antique jewellery apart from colorful wooden sculptures,
musical instruments, old currency notes, carpets and ritual
items. Some of the objects displayed in the museum are also
the works of different Tibetan colonies of India. |
| The House also has a library with a good collection
of books on Tibet's history, tradition and religion. There is
also a shop on the ground floor that sells wonderful Tibetan
handicrafts, clothes, curios, jewellery and even medicines.
